Broccoli can be cooked in various ways. This oven roasted broccoli recipe is one of my favorite ways to cook broccoli. It is extremely simple but always comes out delicious. You can pair oven roasted broccoli with just about anything and it is packed full of nutrients.

How to make oven roasted broccoli

  • Cut 2 broccoli crowns into florets
  • Add to foil lined baking sheet
  • Drizzle with olive oil
  • season with salt and black pepper to taste
  • bake at 425 degrees F for about 15 minutes depending on size of florets
  • remove from oven and serve immedietly

Is it okay to roast broccoli with olive oil?

Bottom line is that I have never had an issue with roasting with olive oil. However, if you are not sold on roasting with olive oil, I would suggest using grapeseed oil. It is a neutral oil that is a great alternative to olive oil and has a higher smoke point. It also wont compromise on the flavor aspect.

Health benefits of broccoli

Broccoli is packed with nutritional value and has numerous health benefits. It is high in nutrients including vitamin c and vitamin k to name a few. It is also high in fiber and antioxidants. You cannot go wrong when choosing broccoli as apart of your meal. It can be prepared in a variety of ways and also eaten raw (with ranch dipping sauce of course!).

Oven roasted broccoli variations:

While oven roasted broccoli is great on its own, there are several ways that you can do to spruce it up a little Here are a few ideas:

  • Sprinkle with parmesan cheese as soon as you take it out the oven.
  • Mix in about 2 tsp minced garlic and roast.
  • Drizzle with balsamic vinegar right before serving.
  • Sprinkle with some red pepper flakes to add a little spice

Pair this recipe with my easy baked chicken breasts or blackened salmon. However, roasted broccoli can easily complement almost any entree.
