Sausage alfredo breakfast casserole is not your average breakfast casserole. This definitely puts a different spin on breakfast. The flavors of the sausage and alfredo sauce just work so well together. I make this on the weekends any chance that I get and my family devours it. What’s great about this recipe is that it’s easy to make!

Steps to make Sausage Alfredo Breakfast Casserole
Start out by making the topping first. Mix the bisquick mix and italian seasoning. Next, cut in the butter. The topping will turn out best if you use cold butter. I like to use my stand mixer to mix in the butter. I mix it until the mixture looks crumbly. Alternatively you can use your fingers or a butter knife to mix the cold butter into the bisquick mixture until it starts to look crumbly. Next. gently stir in 1 egg. Be careful not to overmix. Now that the topping is made, you can set it aside and start working on the remaining.
In a skillet, add in the mushrooms and ground sausage. Break the meat up and chop the mushrooms in to small pieces as you are cooking it in the skillet. Cook the sausage mixture, stirring occasionally until it is browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and add to your casserole dish.
Next, make the scrambled eggs. Crack 10 eggs into a bowl and whisk together until the yolks and whites are fully combined. Heat 2 tbsp butter into a skillet, preferably a nonstick skillet. Pour beaten eggs into the skillet and scramble with a spatula until the eggs are set and have the consistency that you prefer. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Once cooked, add the eggs into the baking dish with the sausage mixture.
Pour in 1 jar of alfredo sauce, gently stir until combined. Spread the mixutre out evenly in the casserole dish. Once that’s complete, spread the topping out eavenly over the casserole.
Bake at 350 degrees farenheight for about 15 minutes or until the topping is a golden brown.

Can this be made ahead of time?
This can definitely be made ahead of time. I would prepare the egg/sausage mixture the night before, cover and refrigerate until ready to cook. However, I would wait to make the biscuit mixture the day of. It only takes a few minutes to prepare the topping.
